Still happening for me in Gutsy.
Personally I think sending error messages to the user every day is more
than low severity. (But I suppose anacron messages are discarded by
default in ubuntu, unless the user installs an MTA?)

Yes. I was getting the daily emails from Anacron about the dangling
symlink. I manually cleaned it up on 8/1/2007. The Anacron emails
stopped. But then they returned afresh on 8/7/2007.
