The Issue is still affecting 13.04 and 13.10. Its my main PC so I don't
really want to move it to a development version of Ubuntu. Its not got
fixed in 3 releases so I am not hopefully its been fixed upstream in the
last couple of months. I can just about tolerate it using the F Keys to
switch back
Charlie, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com

I just experienced the issue again. I have attached the same Xorg Log
after applying the workaround mentioned in the original post.
