Last time I have had a look at, spellcheck in firefox was a firefox-add- on, but an other add-on than lokalication of the user interface. My idea was top bundle both language specific firefox add-ons in one ubuntu package. I do not know what it is look like today. Is there already an ubuntu package

This is not possible because spellcheckers (myspell, aspell, ispell, etc) are also shared with other applications. That's why they have to be in separate packages. If you want to install spellchecking and firefox-locale with one package, please use the language-support-de metapackage. ** Change
