allows me to change with Fn keys but not with system settings slider. No
HUD interface either.

I am having same problem on ASUS N53VZ.
When GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" HUD worrks fine but I can change brigthtness only by
one division in the end of the line
When GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_osi=" controls work fine, but HUD doesn't appear
and sound effect doesn't play
