Newer versions of Ubuntu don't have this problem, and 13.04 is EOL now,
so it's pretty clear doko isn't going to update the sqlite3 there.

Dmitrijis, yes, but that's only happening on amd64, and is due to a
change in the toolchain (gcc probably). There's also another FTBFS in
saucy due to a change in openssl or pyssl error handling. Both of these
issues have been fixed upstream, and I will get them put into saucy
soon.
As for whether
u1db still FTBFS in saucy with the with sqlite3 3.7.16.2-1ubuntu1

This appears to be fixed by 3.7.16.2-1ubuntu1 from Saucy. Can we get an
SRU for it?
