I would not say this is faulty Radeo card. I also have such problem with my
radeon 3650. On windows i works great. On ubuntu it also seems to work fine but
i have a lot of strange logs in my sysLog:

I figured it out by switching the video card; I found this was happening
due to my faulty Radeon X600 card. I switched the card with Radeon
HD3450, and my system never crash & reboot anymore.
This was hard to catch because the video card never caused any problems
in Windows. My advice to
