Thanks for the help. I have installed 8.10 and them 9.10 version. Have
been busy and honestly not tested CD reads afterwards. Loved the way the
wireless hooked right up and forgot anything else. Will test after 1st
of the year. I have 2 weeks to learn MAC as my new Deparment Chair is a
MAC.

Have you tried a clean install of 7.10?
Also, could you attach the outputs of these commands? (These files should
appear in your home folder)
