Meanwhile, python-musicbrainz2 is a completely different package, so this
bugreport should be closed as a duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libmusicbrainz-2.1/+bug/35280
Because te problem is that we still remove the python bindings from
libmusicbr
i confirm this bug.
i installed python-musicbrainz 2.1.4-1 from debian repository, and this fixed
the musicbrainz database support in quodlibet.
