Repurposing this bug and moving the goalposts every release isn't
helpful. Closing, since it originally mentioned 0.6 versus 0.10, which
was sorted in 14.04.

Latest stable nodejs version is 0.12.4, seems like it would be better to
aim for that in 14.04 LTS and later. But obviously Debian hasn't
upgraded anything from upstream in a long time, either. I guess I'll
just use the PPA.

I would love to help update NodeJS from the NodeJS source
(http://nodejs.org/dist/v0.10.33/node-v0.10.33.tar.gz). I have started
working through the packaging guide but it seemed to be addressing
patches rather than updating from Upstream. Anywhere I can read about
how to update this from 0.10.25 -
