I got Kernel 3.2.0-36.43 with the latest update and things are back to normal.
(Headers are still on 3.2.0-36.57, hope that will do not hurt.)
Sorry, further testing is difficult, because kernel 3.2.0-36.57 isn't available
anymore.
If i can do anything, drop me a line...

I am not sure, what has happened now.
i can't reproduce the error with the 3.2 kernel anymore
on that machine. So i leave the tags as they are and check
my other machines again tomorrow.

Hi.
i managed to install the kernel 3.8 on one machine and i can boot it.
It breaks my USB-wireless keyboard and mouse, but a PS/2 connected
keyboard works.
The native nVidia driver does not load, but i have a X desktop on one of
my monitors.
i did an apport-collect of this state.

i noticed different kinds of system crashes:
- Freeze on boot
- Kernel OOPs on boot
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.8 kernel[0] (Not a kernel in the daily directory) and install both
the linux-image and linux-image-extra .deb packages.
