I just installed gutsy, and I see this behavior in both knetworkmanager
and also with the gnome network manager. Am also on a T61 with atheros.

On my T61 with Kubuntu Gutsy tribe 5 KNetworkmanager can not connect to
my home AP (hidden SSID, WPA Personal). I am going to test tomorrow a
work if I can acess to the AP there.

I have a Thinkpad T61 with Atheros card. I am running Kubuntu Gutsy.
KNetworkManager (v0.2) is behaving correctly. Can you do a
sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
in console and see if you can see WiFi access points afterwards
Also, would you be able to verify this with Gutsy?
