I'm not using Ubuntu at the moment but as far as I rememeber this
problem was resolved in Gutsy.

I had the exact same problem and after some testing this fix worked for me:
1. Install sun-java6-bin, sun-java6-jdk, sun-java6-jre
2. install libsvn-javahl.
3. If needed, install eclipse...
4. Open /usr/lib/eclipse/eclipse.ini and add this line at the botton of the
file:"-Djava.libra
