I did notice that there were similar crashes reported. How do I assure that
my system is clean. Must I do a new install of Feisty? A note somehow
attached in the bug tool would on how to recover our systems would make
Kubuntu users more confident.

The QGVector is very suspicious and seems to only happen on Kubuntu
systems. I added 2 more duplicates ( Bug #111652 and Bug #118172). Even
though failed upgrades are caused by different packages, they are still
related.

I had the same problem, and was also using AutoMatix, but possibly more
important, I had some python sane files installed from a non-deb source,
and the installer seemed to trip heavily over those.
