You probably still had a very old postgresql installed and ignored the
debconf warning that this was going to break. Anyway, that test is
removed now in gutsy's version:

I got this error when I tried to dist-upgrade with the new Kubuntu dist-
upgrade tool. However, the tool somehow got stuck and when I exited it,
it left apt database to a locked state. I had to remove 'lock' manually
to proceed the dist-upgrade from the command line.
