Replace it by
sudo apt-get build-dep gs-esp
sudo apt-get build-dep gs-gpl
These ones have the same build dependencies.

when i launch the command
sudo apt-get build-dep ghostscript
i get the following error:
impossible to find a package source for ghostscript
any idea?
furthermore, i had intalled the two packages gs-gpl and gs-esp and i had
not installed ghostscript

I have uploaded it for Gutsy, there one only needs to do an auto update.
For older Ubuntu versions you need to rebuild the package. Do
mkdir gs
cd gs
wget http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8492500/ghostscript_8.60.dfsg.5.orig.tar.gz
wget
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8492501/ghostscript_8.60.dfsg.5-
how can i install GPL Ghostscript 8.60 in my system? i can't find it on
the net

the mirrors.

found the root reason, it crashed for an .eps file which probably is not
legal for the new version of ghostscript, but legal for the old version.
This eps file is generated by adobe acrobat with save as options. I
attached this file for debugging. thanks.

and more, I found that there must be something wrong with my gs, even
when I open a .ps file, it could cause the same problem described in the
first message.
