OK, this is not a bug wrt functionality,
I'm on Kubuntu and via menu
System -> Adept Manager Manage Packages
and then "Fetch Updates" I indeed get the Upgrade Wizard again.
(Does this correspond to what you call "upgrade button" or "Check"?)

Thanks for your bugreport.
For ubuntu its enough to just click on the upgrade button again. If you
are using adept it should be sufficient to click on "Check". If not, I
will re-assign this bug to adept.
