Suspend fails to work on Dell Latitude X1
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107986
You received this bug notification because
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

I've attempted a hibernate after commenting the line you highlighted in
hibernate.sh, but it doesn't appear to make may difference.
Thanks anyway for the pointer - hopefully someone out there will be able
to resolve this :)

Suspend fails to work on Dell Latitude X1
https://bugs.launchpad.net/
I experienced the same problem with a Dell Inspiron 630m
I succeed to hibernate but I must modify the file /etc/acpi/hibernate.sh
and remove -x and -y switch from s2disk at the end of the file (modified
filed attached).
Apparently, there might be a conflict between 915resolution and s2disk
with -
Confirmed based on available logs. Importance to be set by QA/devs.

Suspend fails to work on Dell Lati
No, this was a fresh installation of Feisty beta (about a week ago)
which has been updated to the latest release using Update Manager.
This is the first time I've used Ubuntu - I've never installed earlier
versions.

The one question I forgot to ask is whether this was an upgrade from
Edgy or a fresh install: If you upgraded from Edgy, did this work
properly under Edgy? Thanks!

Once suspend is attempted, ctrl-alt-f1 fails, as does fn-f8 (the
external monitor toggle shortcut). I've also attempted increasing the
brightness using fn+[up arrow], this gives no response either.
Hope this helps!

To work this bug, we'll follow standard ACPI debugging procedures ([1],
[2]). First, please confirm that you have up-to-date BIOS, and update
the report with the output of "uname -a".
Next, please attach the output of the following commands:
sudo lspci -vv
sudo lspci -vvn
sudo dmidecode
