Affects me just the same, When I do a window grap, it appears to be
fine, but the image is all black. When I use the selection tool, The
whole screen is black, except the red cross hairs, it also saves a black
image.

Also running Gnome Shell with fglrx-update. Here is something else that
may help: when I take a desktop screenshot, only what was on my primary
display is black, while my secondary display shows just fine. Capturing
a window on my secondary display also works, but not on the primary
display.
