If you are seeking a stable version i would recommend reinstalling
12.04. We are testing the 13.04 powerpc flavors and the kernel sound and
radeon problems still exists. I can get a clean working version but
with no sound as well on the 3.7.0 kernel.

Updated from 3.5.0-17 via aptitude which also had the same problem.
Disabling snd-powermac resolves the boot issue, however it looks like
the aoa drivers

I don't know if Colin Watson is still monitoring this bug, but snd-
powermac is force loaded on the live ISOs in /etc/modules. It is also
loaded in hw-detect in discover-mac-io.sh (and the other sound modules
blacklisted) - the relev

and radeonfb command too.. Not sure why I have to add the radeonfb video

Anyway, I got the install to boot into a somewhat workable session (obviously

second lot of logs in that bug report (1067899) are not even PowerPC!
Something I did notice though was SMP NR_CPUS=4 which is surely a
problem since we all have 1 CPU?!? Btw Walter, the non-SMP kernel was

I'm still perplexed as to why even after several attempts with different
variants of the ISO, I don't get this at all. Without logs it will be
difficult to figure out the answer, let alone fix the problem. I do know I
don't have a stock hard drive. I can't imagine that is really the issue but

That is the problem Phill this particular failure give me absolutely no
way to get the logs "cleanly". I can not log into a terminal and apport
is installed anyway (so I would have to get that working too). Now with
that being said I can get to a failed partition from a live USB or
working partit
