My 9400 also doesn't resume from standby. I goes to suspend but when I
try to resume, it gives me a whole bunch of errors with appearently
almost every device in my laptop (it talks about hubs, etc, but too fast
to write something down).

It happens to me with kubuntu gutsy, 2.6.22-14. Sometimes; otherwise it
suspends TWICE, so I must resume twice, and it doesn't always work
either.

I am having the same problem with xubuntu gutsy. The laptop (acer 3680)
does turn on from suspend with the lid open. But the screen does not
turn on and the only way to fix this is a hard reboot.
