Can you check whether the libsane-hpaio is installed on your system via
the command
dpkg -l libsane-hpaio
in a terminal window. Please post the output here.
If it is not installed, install it via
sudo apt-get install libsane-hpaio
If it was already installed, re-install it via
sudo apt-get in
