I understand and support the desire to get this included in 12.10, but
we're in the stage right now where we can't afford to introduce
regressions.

it's already building against libsync-menu1, which is provided by the
indicator-sync source, but by itself this does not mean that anything
will "appear" on the desktop to track syncing processes -- the
