Does the mouse & scroll wheel work after:
* finishing the installation
* installing virtualbox-guest-dkms
* possibly installing virtualbox-guest-additions-iso
Testing with Oracle Enterprise Linux doesn't explain much: if special
drivers are required inside Oracle Virtualbox, I would expect Oracle
Just to check whether it's actually a problem with VirtualBox, I tested with
Oracle Enterprise Linux. There wasn't any problem.
No missing mouse pointer, no problem with the scroll wheel.

Does scroll wheel work at all in VirtualBox without installing any
special drivers?
Could be a bug in VirtualBox...
Cause on the installed systems scrollwheel works fine in web-browsers,
including firefox.
