Confirmed on ATI Radeon Mobility M6 LY. Wobbly windows is disabled,
happens even with metacity disabled (except Firefox, which curiously
works), and 'gnome-windows-decorator' doesn't exist. Beryl works fine,
though.

I turned on the wobbly efect with maximize_efect, and now problem
disappered, but wobbling is not a good thing for me :/

Im using ubuntu repos.
Even after installing gnome-compiz-manager and turned off "use metacity theme"
the maximized windows are losing focus when trying to click everywere on the
window title bar.
I found only 2 ways to unmaximize:
1. move window w

I can confirm this bug.
Using feisty with all updates, wobbly plugin disabled. Only using
compiz, not beryl. Problem occurs for me with (at least) Firefox,
Nautilus, Gedit and Evolution. Clicking the close button when a window
is maximized actually clicks through and closes the window behind it
Hmm, I typed "kde-window-decorator" and it helped me. In gnome type
"gnome-window-decorator".

I disabled the wobbly plugin, but the problem persisted. I am using
Beryl in the meantime.

more than just the bottom window for me. Compiz is pretty much unusable
for me at this point.

I am also experiencing this problem. When I maximize a window, the
window becomes unfocused and I cannot click on the window border/title
bar, it loses focus unless I click another part of the window to refocus
it.

Alas, I can confirm this kind of behaviour with EVERY type of window. Feisty
with latest updates, Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT.

Upon further investigation, this problem seems to only happen with
Firefox or Nautilus, which just so happen to be the two programs I use
the most. I will continue trying to see if any other Ubuntu default
programs exhibit the same behavior.

I meant to say that the behavior was not exhibited at the top-right of
the desktop, although the statement about the top-left is true as well,
although probably not relevant.
