I just downloaded and tried Ubuntu GNU/Linux 8.04 live CD (32-bit, i386)
and ran Rhythmbox on the belief that the Magnatune Rhythmbox plugin
would play Magnatune's Ogg Vorbis files. The Magnatune plugin was
already set up, so I clicked on it, let it download Magnatune's catalog
and tried to play a

While that may be a solution to another bigger problem, I think the solution
here is to change the plugin to use the OGG streams. What OGG streams, you
ask? The following is from an email sent to me by Magnatune's John Buckman:

I disagree. the real problem is that rhythmbox does not handle missing
codecs very well. this is covered by bug #37671 (rhythmbox need support
for easy-codec-installation). though thats also marks as wishlish.
