Btw, are you sure it is 'Doc Mic' and not 'Dock Mic'? (Note the
different spellings) The name is wrong nonetheless if it's no
affects ubuntu/pulseaudio

I'm seeing this same issue on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit on a Lenovo W520.
The WORKAROUND fixes my issue also (Selecting "Dock Microphone" from
pavucontrol)
