synaptic is not responding from dash

I don't have ubuntu-desktop installed, and synaptic starts from the
dash. Which command did you use to launch synaptic from the terminal?
Please try running synaptic-pkexec from the terminal, as that should be
the command executed when launching from dash.

I found that ubuntu desktop is not installed.After installing the
