I still cannot run the terminator on Ubuntu inside of VNC session
ubuntu@ubuntu-VirtualBox:~$ terminator
Segmentation fault
ubuntu@ubuntu-VirtualBox:~$ terminator -version
terminator 0.96
ubuntu@ubuntu-VirtualBox:~$
First I tried installing it via
apt-get install terminator and it didn't wor
Dave is right in comment #5, we make a directory if we are going to
write a config. Otherwise, we don't.

I think I also discovered that if you edit the preferences from within
Terminator it will create the directory and the config file.

Terminator creates a default config file if the directory is present.
