Thanks, I have no idea why it's installed on my computer.
Something strange seems to be happening on my system and it's not clear
what the trigger is. Right now "dash" won't pop up. The icon is

blcr-dkms does simply not work with 3.X kernels and its non trivial to fix, the
newest kernel supported is 2.6.38.
it is a pretty specialized package, you can probably just remove it.
