Screen shift to the left aft

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

Is anyone still seeing this in Gutsy? There was a kernel bug fixed in
2.6.22 (which is the kernel version used in Gutsy) that should make most
instances of this problem go away (see the Linux kernel mailing list
thread at http://lkml.org/lkml/2007/4/27/370).

Workaround: Switch to a virtual console and back to the X-Server (i.e.
press Alt-Ctrl-1 and Alt-Ctrl-7). If that doesn't work, restart X.

Just in case it's useful info: Gutsy now allows me to suspend rather
than hibernate my desktop, and I haven't seen this since I switched
methods.

Just one day after this bug has been closed, the problem occurs again
(see attached picture).
This time the screen was first ok after resuming and it get shift first
a few seconds after I've logged in. (this is not the first time that it
happens this way)
