It seems to be impossible to manage some pam auth settings non-
interactively due to this bug.
For example, I want to fetch user/group info from LDAP on a server so I
install 'libnss-ldap'. This automatically enables ldap authentication in
PAM (this already seems like a bad idea) which I don't wan
According to this message in the ceph thread those three patches are not
sufficient:

In a follow up Stefan Priebe mentions he has about 20 other patches
applied, and that must have contributed to having the problem solved on

There is one person on the Ceph mailing list who thinks this is fixed in
4.7rc6 (http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.file-
systems.ceph.user/30793/focus=30987). Unfortunately, I haven't been able
to figure out a precise patch set that can be applied to 4.4 to fix it.

Public bug reported:
The name of the Ceph config file depends on the name of your Ceph
cluster. By default the cluster name is just "ceph" so the config file
is named "ceph.conf". If you name your cluster "foobar" your config file
will be named "foobar.conf".

After installing 16.04 server and selecting the option "no automatic
upgrades" the system will still be configured to automatically perform
security upgrades.

Public bug reported:
I can add boot options after the '---' in the installer and they are
used, but after the install they are not preserved, forcing me to edit
/etc/default/grub and run 'update-grub'. In my case I was passing
"net.ifnames=0" but I am not sure if the specific option matters.

This appears to be hardware/firmware related (specifically a problem
with the motherboard). There is some sort of IRQ conflict when one of
the PCIe slots is being used. The IRQ conflict was there in 14.04 as
well, but didn't seem to cause any problems. Moving one of the NVME
devices to a differe

I have several identical servers with two PCIe NVME drives each (Intel

When trying to install 16.04 only one NVME device was visible and the

It is most likely a problem with laptops who use a "smart battery

I am having the exact same issue on my Acer Aspire 1680 and Feisty Fawn.
If I boot to the old kernel (2.6.20-15) everything works fine, but if I
boot to the newer kernel (2.6.20-16) then my /proc/acpi/battery
directory is empty and gnome-power-manager says there is no battery.

I am having the exact same problem as original poster, whenever I try to
boot the edgy eft live cd. I have AMD Barton 2600+ on MSI KT4 mobo,
which uses VIA chipset. I think this definately has to do with VIA. I
have tried ACPI =force, ACPI=off, pnpbios=off, and various combinations
