I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 karmic. I have an Acer Timeline 4810tz.
I can record sounds with my internal mic using Sound Recorder and
Audacity, but in chat clients (I've tested pidgin, empathy, and Skype),
I can't get my mic to work (ie, the person I'm chatting with can't hear
me).
I can also confirm the compiz fix for flash in firefox-3.5 on karmic
amd64 beta.

A couple of things:
1) Today, every new message that comes into mail-notification is
triggering a fallback-dialog for me. I'm still running notify-osd in
valgrind/gdb so I see the error message. It is "
