Glad I have a new shortcut in my arsenal, Alt+Middle button to resize
windows. But, I have to confess that after a few days on Maverick, I
find this losing the ability to (easily) resize the window by dragging
the corner somewhat annoying. I feel that this is one of these 1000
papercuts type issues

Ok, seems that my system automatically set up a system-wide proxy server
when I was using a SOCKS proxy with firefox through SSH. I have
disabled this proxy setting and I so I rescind this bugreport.
