Bryce, I was not able to gather a better backtrace (partially due
another bug in nvidia drivers that prevents me from switching to console
if X is running) but anyway the problem seems to be gone. I guess it was

Toshiba Tecra M9 laptop running Xubuntu Jaunty with today's updates (but
the problem was already observered with older versions of Jaunty).
Steps to reproduce:
1) Insert a DVD into DVD drive
2) DVD gets mounted, movie player starts etc. as expected
Is there anything I can do to help triaging this bug? It seems to me
like a serious problem (dual-head setup is unusable on my laptop). I'm
not reporting it upstream as I don't know if the problem is Ubuntu
specific, Xorg bug or NVidia bug.

display connected to the laptop configured as a separate X screen with
Xinerama. I also ran "dontzap -e" command

Jonathan, do you have the latest version installed? The bug was fixed
upstream in 2.4.1 and I don't see the problem anymore in
1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2.

I tried to create a debdiff. As I'm not at all familiar with Ubuntu
development/packaging process it would be nice if someone can review it
and if correct apply it before Hardy release.
