removing the blank cd/dvd solves the
i had the same prob...
following a suggestion on the forum, i ejected the blank cd from the
drive and running "gksudo nautilus" in a terminal worked!
nb: NOTHING else was changed

this problem occurs at random for me, despite the "usefree" mod...
i'm curious tho, how you can determine the correct usb port to try with
"gnome-mount -vtd /dev/sdh2"?
if the usb device won't mount
