The one thing all the reporters (including myself) seem to have in common is
that we're all using scim, so I believe that this is a duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/scim/+bug/66104
Fortunately, that defect also includes work-around information.

I'm also having this problem. When knetworkmanager first tries to connect to
my wireless network, it asks me for the WEP password for my network. After I
enter it, it just sits there with the gear spinning (apparently at 0%). When I
check the wallet, there is no entry for knetworkmanager, so
Since I ran into this, I have done a complete fresh install of edgy. The
problem disappeared with the fresh install. That leads me to believe that this
is one of:
- Differences between the resulting images of upgrade and fresh install
- Problems introduced by one or more of the ACPI settings ch
I see this on a T42p. Starts to shut down, but the fan stays on, and
I'm unable to do anything except hold down the power button until it
shuts off. I've disabled sleep entirely until then. Reverting to
