I have also confirm this is an issue on ubuntu 9.04 64 bit and ubuntu 9.10 beta
64 bit.
I'm using an hdmi connection to the Acer H233H monitor from a Dell 1525 Intel
on board display.

I didn't have this issue on Ubuntu 8.10. I've tried it on 2 different
monitors.
