I can confirm this bug on Lucid RC. I took a different path to
circumvent the problem: I installed the madwifi module (yeah, I know, I
know, but it was a pragmatic choice), and now the problem in gone.

1) wouldn't this bug belong to the intel driver, instead? I have another
laptop with ati, and it is really solid. There is a bug that is marked
as solved, but (with a up-to-date installation of jaunty) it still
happens for me.

Under KDE 4.1, the scim-gtk-applet respawns a lot (and there are many

Ok. Not mutzinet but myself compiled xmgrace 5.1.22 from source and now
works correctly. (I mean, the compiled version)
It is not an issue of 5.1.21, because the changelog is minimal and
unrelated.
For me, it also worked as root. I run strace, but could not recognize
the problem.
