I did pretty much the same thing as jdaviescoates mentioned above. I
reset the computer, ran: sudo apt-get check, then it directed me to run:
dpkg --configure -a. It all ran from the command line just fine. Note
that X wouldn't work with my NVIDIA card until the whole install process
was complet
Same trouble here. Except I've got 1.5MHz with 700MB RAM. It's been
running for about 2 hours. Seems to be doing something - I mean at
least it is an active process. In top I've used "renice" to set it to a
lower value (i.e. -4) and that it will use more of the CPU. Hoping that
will at least
