I also have a SSD and experience the same problem with black screen and a
blinking cursor on startup.
If I enter the password for my account then the black screen is displayed I am
logged in but I don't see anything then I enter the text.

$ sudo apt-get install --reinstall libgl1-mesa-glx libgl1-mesa-dri
