As of 3.13.0-30-generic the bug seems to have been resolved For future reference these are the ones I had tested. Curiously, the issue seemed to only happen with the "official" kernels in the repos up until 3.13.0-30 ---v3.13.11.2-trusty OK no wake up issues. ---v3.13.1-031301-generic OK no wake

Appears to be present in Raring, Saucy, and Trusty kernels so it is clearly related to the unique hardware of this Samsung notebook. What has changed is the behaviour with Trusty. In earlier versions of Xubuntu the volume function keys didn't cause is state requiring a reboot. Now looking at gett
