hum, I not use ubuntu , but finally I found someone with exactly same hardware and same problem . on linux-2.6.27 , dmesg | grep 04.0 Read Mac address from eeprom Realtek PHY RTL8201 transceiver as address 1. ... seams pretty, I get IP from dhcp but after that , can't even ping the gateway --
