I'm using the backported vinagre, which helps. But I have a question:
Is it possible to set a lower color as the default? I'm guessing, if
some command line call could be passed for low color, that the default
low-color setting could be set via gconf-editor at /desktop/gnome/url-
handlers/vnc/com

I ran into this problem last night, and here's my hasty work-around:
Purge all the currently installed acroread packages.
There are three acroread files in /var/apt/archives that need to be forefully
remove
Just wanted to add that I've managed to get this to work at our
university. It took some changes from the previous procedures -- a .pem
needed to be made of a key, and the university's root certificate needed
a little tweak, but after that, it's connecting just right.
If only UVA'a secure network
I was coming on here to file the same bug, and was beaten to it. It
should be a simple enough tweak for synaptic to just clear Quick Search
whenever Search is opened. The way it is now can be especially
confusing to new users, non-computer-savvy users, and oldsters like my
dad who uses Linux but
