I had to modify the script to get it to work under Solaris:
$ uname -srvmpi
SunOS 5.10 Generic_118822-10 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V490
The modified script (seems to be more general as it works in Ubuntu,
too):

wget 'http://superb-

The error could be in a number of places: fsck, blkid,

Some things to try with example code:

"But the reason the bug happens is because that people try to install
ubuntu on an external drive, and then it steals the mbr from windows and
never gives it back,"
That hypothesis is not consistent with several of the posts, especially
when Windows is not involved. FWIW, I've installed Ubuntu 7.
I tried this in Dapper which worked for adjusting the headset volume:
Right click on the "Volume Applet"
Click on "Open Volume Control"
Adjust the Headset volume
Let us know if it works for you.

I have a similar problem on a Dell Latitude D610 running Ubuntu 6.06 LTS

"Headphone" worked.
Attached is the output from this script:

Hello all,
Has anyone successfully applied the patch and used it in a running
kernel? If so, would you be willing to post a link to instructions?
Here's what I tried, which did not work:
sudo su -
apt-get update
apt-get install linux-source
wget

Foffa,
I've posted notes on how we were able to get Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS AMD64
server installed on a Dell PowerEdge 2950:

The reason is that grub installs into the first physical device
