Read other open bugs on Flightgear, tried deleting /dev/input/js0 and
/dev/input/js1 and unplugged and replugged the joystick as suggested in
bug 209444 and the program now works with joystick!! Happiness all
around!

On my Presario 702CA laptop with Edgy, if Macromedia Flash Player is
installed, Firefox crashes on any page with flash content.
I have a desktop PC with Edgy and the same software installed, and it
works fine.
