It sounded strange, because I've thought problem is not in some shell
script, but in ddcprobe binary. Problem it, it defaults to 1,0 ratio, if
it can't find correct one via EDID. OK, real problem is it can't find
correct one. Maybe the best thing you can do is use Xorg autodetection
and rewrite too
I like solution of Vedran Rodic very much. Juse use Xorg feature instead
of out-of-date tools. Generate monitor settings in xorg.conf like this:

I suppose it'll cause problems only with very old screen devices. And these

Problem is still there. When I boot kubuntu 7.10 tribe 5 livecd, it
creates(?) wrong modes in xorg.conf file. I have to change _1440x1440_
