I was using smbclient as part of my autofs setup to enumerate remote
shares. This worked fine on a previous release of Ubuntu 13.10, however
when I upgraded to 14.04, my shares no longer got enumerated.
When I debugged further, I was getting logon errors. As a workground, it

I get the same errors. I see a bunch of dialog alerts come up. I'm
seeing these when evolution is running in the background (it may be
triggered on the automatic mail check?). I am running it on a desktop
that I never put to sleep.

During routine usage of gnome-terminal, I experienced a segfault/crash
of the app.
I've never observed a crash in terminal, so it was very surprising.
Unfortunately, the only log I received was this:

It changed my email from Evolution to mutt, and my music player from
Rhythmbox to Audacious.
For people who want to fix this, you need to go to:
1) Systems Settings > System Info > Default applications.
2) Select the correct applications, and you're all set.

If I select reboot (shutdown > reboot) from the notification panel (gear
icon - top right) I get logged out and sent to login screen page, but
the machine is not rebooted. If I select reboot from this login screen,
it also fails.

David: I've disabled "Coming events from evolution" feature in the
indicator settings dialog, and that has resolved the memory leaks issue
for me. It's not a real fix, but a reasonable workaround for now.

Ok, so I replaced the /usr/lib/indicator-datetime/indicator-datetime-
service with a bash script that calls binary through valgrind (probably
what I should've done in the first place).
I see a lot of calendar fetching for repeat events in my evolution
calendar source.

I renamed the binary, and ran valgrind with the following options. I
don't think it's getting useful info (mostly startup/init stuff) and
then shuts down immediately.

Services seem to get auto-started (at least when I kill /usr/lib
/indicator-datetime/indicator-datetime-service, I see another instance
load immediately). This makes valgrind'ng a little tricky.
If you can let us know how to enable debugging/run valgrind on services,
that would be great. Thanks.

After pulling down the source code to the indicator, I noticed a lot of
code dealing with fetching Evolution appointments.
After disabling that functionality in the settings and restarting the
indicator-datetime service ( left the machine on over the weekend), I no
longer observed the leak.

Evolution 2.30.3 on Ubuntu 10.10.
I was playing around with MAPI setup and had successfully connected to
an exchange server, and also had a previous IMAP account working. I
decided to disable the MAPI for now and come back to using it later.
