looks like i need to re-authenticate each time i come online, for ubuntu
one to syn correctly.
result is that i have to re-allow my machine each time, for the cloud
icon to work... if ubuntu one is using the network interface to figure
out the id of the machine, then this may be the reason (using
Public bug reported:
opened from suspend to ram, system super slow, then error message popped
up.

Got the problem sorted for me, hope this sorts it out for others too:
To get Metacity working, the dirty hack is to add:
metacity --replace
to the list of startup applications, which seems to work fine if you’re
set against compiz.

Don't have "ubuntu-mobile-default-settings" installed tho'.

did not have compiz, or visual effects installed at all - prefer plain desktop
for speed.
did get the fglrx drivers message when doing the upgrade.
would expect that visual effects settings and keyboard
Same here: wasn't seeing this issue, then deleted Gmail IMAP folders for
a different reason, and now the empty folder is appearing...
