operating systems are installed on an IDE drive, which is supposed to be
/dev/sda, other than that I have a SATA drive for storage which is

I got the same crash when starting the computer for the first time since
upgrading from Hardy to Intrepid. It happened when I tried to enable
Compiz desktop effects (medium level). Because of this enabling desktop
effects doesn't seem to work.
Distro: Intrepid
GFX card: Ati Radeon 9600
Driver: ati
After finished updating and rebooting I restarted my virtual Intrepid
installation just to see if it was still working, when I hit Shut Down
it crashed.

I got this after updating today too, although after I had restarted. It
happened right when I pressed Ctrl + Alt to get out of fullscreen mode
in VMWare Player.
