i can confirm this.. i have used the karmic alpha 2 live disk. i didnt
try this with nvidia's restricted drivers because i couldnt install
karmic, but it appears that they took out the glow when you reach full
volume or the fade when you reach lowest. if not, i think they should
just remove it. i h

this also seems to be happening in every new ubuntu alpha. It happened in
hardy, intrepid, and now jaunty [when they were still in alpha stage]. Is there

I just updated jaunty today and compiz was in one of the updates. after
restart, it loaded the background and failed to go further, it just
stays there. If you relogin using a failsafe terminal, and remove

will use 100% cpu as soon as it is logged in. the ram usage will quickly
rise to 100% and the computer locks up. then nautilus will die and come
